Lesson Notes and Client Notes

With MakeMusic Studio, you can write lesson notes for each appointment (previously called "appointment follow-ups") and client notes to help you and your students/parents stay on track.

Client Notes and Lesson Notes use Markdown, so you can format them with images, URLs, bold, italics, tables, and other features.

Lesson Notes:

  • For each appointment/lesson, you can create a "public" (visible to all staff and attendees) and "private" (only visible to admin and staff members on the appointment) lesson notes.

  • For "public" notes, you have the option to send a message to the attendees to notify them about the new lesson notes. "Public" notes will also appear in the conversation thread between you and the attendees.

  • Lesson notes can be created at any time before or after the appointment

  • Staff can print the public and/or private lesson notes --> creates a printable PDF

  • Attendees can print the public lesson note (if one exists)

To create a lesson note, navigate to an appointment, scroll down to the "Lesson Notes" section and click the "edit" (pencil) icon, add your note and "Save"

After a lesson note is created, a "print" icon will appear. Click the "print" icon. This will open a new tab in your browser with a printable PDF of the lesson note, branded for your studio.

Client Notes:

  • Client notes are located on the Client details page.

  • If there are client notes, they will show under the client overview and will follow the client in each appointment they are an attendee of.

  • The client cannot see the notes, if you would like them to see a note you can message them, or after the appointment has started create a public lesson note.

  • Staff members in any role can add notes and all staff members can see all notes.

To create a client note, either navigate to the Client's Overview and scroll down to the "Notes" section and click the pencil to add or navigate to an appointment and expand the client in the attendee section, click on the Client notes pencil, add your note, Save
