Ready to start using MakeMusic Studio? Complete all seven steps to get your studio up and running!
Part 1: Explore & Set Up Your Studio
While you're in Setup Mode, student notifications and payments are turned off, so you can explore without worrying about charging or notifying anyone.
Step 1: Invite Your Teachers (Optional)
Have other teachers or staff? Invite them to your studio so you can assign lessons to them.
Teaching solo? Skip this step!
Step 2: Add Your Students
Add a few students to try things out, or import your entire client list.
If you're adding families, enter the parent first, then add their children. Billing should be assigned to the student, even when a parent is paying.
Step 3: Set Up Billing & Schedule Lessons
Choose how you'd like to charge your students:
Subscriptions: Automatic recurring tuition payments
Packages: A set number of prepaid lessons
Hourly: Charge for individual lessons
One-time: Collect a single payment
Then add lessons to your calendar. You can schedule one-time or recurring appointments.
Tip: If you're moving from another system, schedule your first lessons and billing to begin after your planned Go Live date.
Step 4: Personalize Your Studio
Add your logo, business information, and brand color to make MakeMusic Studio your own.
Part 2: Ready to Go Live?
Just a few more steps before you start using MakeMusic Studio with your students!
Step 5: Set Your Booking Preferences
Decide how you want scheduling to work for your studio.
Set your cancellation policy.
Choose your appointment reminder settings.
Decide whether students can book their own lessons.
Step 6: Enable Payments & Payouts
Connect your bank account and complete business verification so you can collect student payments and receive payouts.
Step 7: Review & Go Live!
You're almost there!
Review your studio settings, billing, and appointments. When everything looks good, select Go Live Now.
A few things to know:
We recommend going live 3–5 days before your first payment so families have time to add their payment information.
Eligible students and families will receive welcome invitations.
Students without billing or an appointment won't automatically receive an invitation.
Congratulations! You're live!
