Want to give your client communications a more personal, professional touch? With the Custom Email integration, you can send appointment reminders, notifications, and other emails from your own business email address.
But here's the good news: You don't need to! MakeMusic Studio already sends emails on your behalf using your studio name, so clients can easily recognize who they're from.
For example:
Standard Email (No Setup Required):
[email protected]Custom Email (Optional):
[email protected]
Both options send your studio's notifications to clients. The only difference is the email address they come from.
Want to Use Your Own Email Domain?
If you'd prefer notifications to come directly from your business domain, you can use the optional Custom Email integration.
This requires access to your domain's DNS settings and adding a few records to verify ownership.
Important: You must own the domain you want to use. Public email addresses like Gmail, Outlook.com, and Yahoo aren't supported.

How to Set Up Custom Email
Step 1: Enter Your Email Address
Log in to MakeMusic Studio.
Navigate to Settings → Integrations.
Find Custom Email and click Configure.
Enter the email address you'd like clients to see as the sender (for example,
[email protected]).
Step 2: Add Your DNS Records
MakeMusic Studio will generate four DNS records that need to be added to your domain provider's DNS settings:
3 CNAME records
1 TXT record
Log in to the account where your domain's DNS is managed.
Open your domain's DNS settings.
Add the four records exactly as displayed in MakeMusic Studio.
Save your changes.
Important: Use the DNS values generated specifically for your account, not example values from another setup. These should be standard DNS records, not configured behind a proxy.
Step 3: Validate Your Email
Return to Settings → Integrations in MakeMusic Studio.
Click Validate.
Once all four records show green check marks, you're all set! MakeMusic Studio will begin sending emails from your custom address.
Note: DNS changes can take 48–168 hours to fully propagate, so don't worry if validation doesn't work immediately. You can try again later.
Troubleshooting
All DNS records are red?
This usually means you started the integration but haven't completed the DNS setup.
If you'd like to finish, follow the steps above.
If you no longer want to use Custom Email, delete the unfinished integration under Settings → Custom Email to return to standard email sending.
Only one DNS record is red?
An additional TXT record may be required to maintain email delivery. Add the missing record shown in red to your DNS provider, allow time for it to propagate, and click Validate again.
Need help? If you're unsure how to update your DNS records, contact your domain hosting provider for assistance.
